Operating for over 20 years, Planète Enfants is an association of international unity, aiding street children in Kathmandu, Nepal. Located in Asia, between China and India, Nepal is a country beset by the harsh realities of poverty. While the country has become increasingly vulnerable to the ramifications of financial instability, ignorance, and anguish, trafficking of human beings is the utmost of its severe hardships.
Since its establishment in 1992, Planète Enfants has defended the rights of children, as stated in the 1989 International Convention on the Rights of the Child, the right to fair citizenship. These liberties include access to an education, health care, freedom of opinion and expression, and finally, protection against brutality and exploitation.
Planète Enfants has progressively structured and utilized its resources to achieve this objective, defending children from the sexual, and violent trap of human trafficking.
Despite projects conducted in many regions throughout the world, such as Benin, Kosovo, Morocco, and India, Planète Enfants has chosen to place its focus where human trafficking is vigorous and widespread. Efforts to eliminate trafficking are made by way of attacking the foundation of the issue, poverty, ignorance, and gender prejudice against girls and women.
Planète Enfants currently hopes to extend its efforts to victims of trafficking in other countries, including France, the destination of many victims.
